Probably the fact that the Internet did not work. It's kinda important in this day and age, especially for travelers!
Located just across from the railway station, so this motel is a great choice for the early morning start required for train journey. Staff at the bar downstairs were very helpful and friendly.
Staff at front desk were not the friendliest. Room was stifling. Even after turning off the heating, opening the windows and turning on the air conditioner, the place was still hot. Location makes up for this, particularly if you need to get up early in the morning to catch the train. Would recommend this place purely based on location to train station.
Convenient to the train station and very nice views of the mountains.
I enjoyed my stay, the convenience of being in the downtown area was fantastic. I was fortunate enough to be given an upgraded to suite and it was very nice. The view from the room was great !!! The italian restaurant in the hotel was delicious !
Location in centre of Jasper, pub attached to it.
Poor staff, unhelpful. Expensive for the quality and comfort of the rooms. Breakfast times took ages - about 30-40 minutes for a cooked breakfast even at quiet time.
We booked on line so were not entirely aware of the position of the hotel but were pleased to find it was in the centre and across the road from the rail station as we were en route to Vancouver via Canadian Railway. It suited us just fine.
No Internet on the rooms, no fridge on rooms. For such big hotel, it's a must have. Some details to improove.
Convenient to the town, bars and restaurants.
We stayed at Whistlers Inn for two nights. The room we were given was very small but for overnight stops adequate, it was in the older part of the hotel, however when it came to sleeping the room next door which was an ajoining family room had the television on from which we could hear every word, on top of this everytime someone went to the bathroom the noise was unbelievable. My husband went down to reception and they moved us to an updated room with two large double beds..the room was a lot nicer but there is no or very little soundproofing and people obove us were walking around from 2am.The biggest problem with Whistlers Inn is that its opposite the train station...very convenient if your catching the Rocky Mountaineer b ut beware, people rise from 4am and meet downstairs in hotel lobby around 5.30am so it's very noisy!
Nice room overlooking the main street. Close to centre of Jasper.
Limited parking on a first come basis. Very cramped parking area. Poor signage from the main street and we missed the hotel when we drove past.
Awesome location, clean and comfortable, spacious room, view of the mountains, friendly staff.
The wireless did not work in my room. I had to take my computer to the lobby to get wireless which was not at all convenient. The small parking lot was full but I was lucky enough to get parking on the street out front. I had a lot of luggage, samples, etc for my business trip and it was a bit awkward to get everything up to my room. I'm sure the staff would have helped me had I asked.
Within easy reach of all amenities and only a short drive from the nature/wildlife and scenery which i had gone for.
Was convenient for train passenger access to the station. Close to Patricia st shopping and restaurants. Great breakfast at the in house Italian restaurant. Great front desk staff, caring and helpful.
Found lighting in bathroom too dim. Elevator smelled bad.
The location was convenient
The noise at night from the trains shuttling was very disturbing and wouldn't recomment to others if this is a nightly event
The hot tub was the right temperature. Once we parked the car for the night, we didn't have to drive to restaurants, shops, as central location.
Small number of car parking spaces for hotel guests meant we had to park on the street for one night.
Whistler's Inn was an excellent base for exploring the Rockies. It's position is superb, opposite the railway station, beside the Information Centre and opposite the Hertz/National car hire offices and the Greyhound bus stop. Although beside the road and railway, it was well insulated and the rooms were very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful. We returned to the hotel as we found it such a good base and discovered that we had been upgraded at no extra cost. We thoroughly recommend the hotel to others.
